A forced air tunnel uses a conveyor to carry typically bulk product through a refrigerated space. High volumes of air at a high static pressure blow up through the belt carrying the produce. As the air passes through the produce on the belt, it then enters into a refrigerated coil mounted above. High volume fans are mounted above the coil. Air is returned to the bottom of the conveyor for passing through the produce pile. Temperatures as low as 38 degrees is possible.
